Turneffe Island Resort started out as a fishing lodge, with original structures built in 1962. It was purchased by current owners in 2001 and gradually built up for comfort and service but still keeping the environment in mind. Here's a few photos of what the Resort has to offer.

We enjoyed many delicious meals and desserts! Homemade cookies after every dive; appetizers before supper; unique and delicious drinks (pumpkin colada, mango colada, raspberry sangria, etc.). SO good!

The clubhouse is a beautiful new building with a bar area and pool table; lots of comfy seating, puzzles, board games, and a small book shelf. |
The island runs on solar power . There are many solar panels just behind the main buildings and hot water panels on the roofs of both guest and staff accommodations. The water supply is collected from rain water or is made by a reverse osmosis system. And, unrelated to environmental concerns, the wifi is excellent and is available throughout the resort, including each cabin! :-)

So many solar panels! |

Serenity Spa - I didn't take advantage but they have a variety of spa services. |

Kayaks, stand up paddle boards, and a couple of hobie catamarans for the sailing crowd. |

I was so happy there was a little gym on site! With air conditioning, thank goodness. It was by no means perfect -- most of the machines didn't work well, some of the equipment was rusted, and the pull-up bar seemed a bit sketchy. But!!! I worked out every day except the long day trip to the Blue Hole, did lots of strict pull-ups, used a good set of 20# dumbbells a lot of the time, and some light weight barbell movements. Loved it!!
And we enjoyed many beautiful sun rises and sunsets. :-)
We had a wonderful experience here and would definitely considering visiting here again!
